There is no plan for recreation in ontario. the MNR would be in charge of taking something like this.
there are tourism industries that work with to create recreation.
locale and regional organizations have the full

recreation is a resource..its normally not thought of that WAY.

part of the difficulty is that it is not realized to be a valuable part of the economy

BC seems to show recreation well! they have a recreation and tourism plan. (through the government) how do we start a planning process from what they have done to emulate their plan.

tourism is dependant on receration we need to plan for recreation as well as tourism.
governments role is to ensure that there are opportunities there for the recreation. we need a high quality and diverse recreation in ontario.

atv's personal watercrafts the newer types of recreation degrade the other parts of recreation!! we cannot have canoeing with personal watercraftinf, as well as with cross country skiing we cannot have snow machines driving and ruiningn the trails.

it seems you really have to look to find things for recreation activities in the soo

seems we need a central marketing to show people what northern ontario is! need a plan and advertisment so our recreation al opportunities are accessible to people.

need a central internet website access  so it is not difficult to find!

destination management-we need to make places accessible not just physically accessible.

what does sault ste maire offer that is unique?
-the tour train (with this though they are not marketing the passenger train to let people know of camping opportunities near the agawa canyon)
lake superior povincial park (many protected resources)
NEED TO PROMOTE THE PARK

people need ALOT of self planning to plan just a canoe trip if they want to come from toronto.

develop visitor management! incase the truck loads of tourists come and then we have a plan for possible degradation.

need to promote our industry

what we need is more effective ways to promote our natural resources and recreational activities.

people of this city have trouble thinking of "world class" they think of backyard.
the city is very multicultural with the francophone population as well as the aboriginal. we need to include everyone.

we need a leader who has a vision of world class that includes everyone in the plans

difficult to envision world class maybe we can call it first class instead

we have so many opportunities how can we make them accesible to the people not just accessible in the physical sense.

forest planing takes twice as long to create because we do not have a recreational plan!

we need to coordinate the businesses so they work together!
pay attention to your customers, tourism entrepreneurs! need good customer service!

we dont just need to look at tourists as our market but we also need to look at the residents of the area we need to pull them in and educate them of the recreational opportunities.

we need to let people know about the rich history of sault ste marie we are one of the oldest francophone places in canada!

MNR needs a recreational planning program!! need to designate land for certain things! we need to look at things that eh land can provide for us we need to plan, develope, and build accordingly.

what does this are really have?
-we have a strong landscape
-prisitne wilderness
-lake superior
-all the outdoor activities

have a better train system that was accessible to all and have a train pass so people can easily access all the opportunities in the area.

take things one level above tourism but work with community sustainability

sault ste maire is inaccessible! we need to make the area accesiible by physical means as well as financial. so that it is an attractive area to come to

wrap. we have a great area it is very gorgueous
it is a highly recreational activities for summer and winter but we have no plan!
