Cathy MacLellan

A social and business entrepreneur, Cathy and her husband Ian founded ARISE Technologies in 1996 with the mission to make Solar Energy part of the mainstream energy supply in Canada.Living in a grid tied house, participating in the original feed in tariff program of the Ontario government has demonstrated that decentralized clean power production can siginificantly contribute to the energy mix in Ontario.

Recognizing the need for serious policies that will guide Canada toward a low carbon economy and future, Cathy ran as the KW Green Party of Candidate in the 08 general election garnering 12.1% of the vote.

Technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and democracy will enable Canada to mitigate and adapt to the most serious issue of our generation - climate change.
