TBay is an exciting place to be right now -- smack dab in the throes of transitioning to the knowledge economy. Yes, we have a stuggling resource-based economy but we also have an emerging knowledge-based economy --the university, Confederation College, DNA research and so on. Looking at it all from the perspective of the creative classes, TBay has lots of public sector workers, educators, library staff and the like. We also have a higher than expected number of musicians (symphony to blues), artists of all types and writers. I think some of this variety results from TBay's role as the informal capital of NW Ontario.
