User:Gina La Force

Gina La Force is the Chief Librarian/CEO of the Thunder Bay Public Library.   She comes to Thunder Bay with over a decade of experience leading public libraries throughout southern Ontario and the United States.  With a Master of Library Science and a Master of Business Administration, she believes that the public library http://www.tbpl.ca is key to helping this community make its transition to the Knowledge Economy.  This new economy is predicated on a culture of lifelong learning, access to information and high speed telecommunications as well as the ability to use information technology.  The Library also plays a key role in social inclusion with a particular focus on youth, seniors and members of the Aboriginal communities.  As one of the creative sectors driving the renewal of cities, the Library is well positioned for the 21st century.
