This was a very lively, stimulating and informative session. It was also quite productive, compared to some of the other discussions. Mark, you did a great job as discussion leader! You presented a lot of good information, and I think, tapped-into a vein. We all want to be able to affect progress where we live, yet our city has been mismanaged for so many years that it's hard to feel that engaging in municipal politics can be productive. You yourself shared some horror-stories about being demoralized by political inertia. And yet, your tone, and the tone of the discussion in general, was open and hopeful... I would even go so far as to say inspirational. I'm still digesting, but already feeling more positive about engaging with city government somewhere down the line, now that I have some good ideas to work with.
