Following AgendaCamp remotely (from Richmond Hill, Central Ontario region, north of Toronto). This is my third AgendaCamp, and they just keep getting better :)

Recently read a book by Wayne Roberts, "A No Nonsense Guide to World Food" (expanding my "agrarian horizons" extensively) and may post a few excerpts...

Very interested in learning about organic farming, bio-dynamic farming, urban farming, creating win-win situations for small-business owners/farmers so they reap the true value of their produce and so consumers are willing to "pay a little extra for a lot more" by realizing that food that comes from thousands of miles away do not actually reflect their true cost, especially in terms of the environmental impact of transportation.

Also interested in the government initiatives at all levels that have been proposed to help rural Ontarians, that have been implemented to help Eastern Ontario, and would like to see the Agenda be responsible for attracting "just the right stakeholders" to the AgendaCamp to not only get the issues out there but to provide some brainstorming about how to tackle those issues.

Been reading an interesting report, dated Mar 2007, that adequately describes the Eastern Region's economy, its issues, and offers Proposals to address those issues:
