Over 30 1 Job 1 Employer now ClosedFrom $1Table of contentsNo headersSandi Ellis Steve Sachs Andrew Bauer Evan Jones Don't have Grade 12 Over 45 years old What about me ? What is success for me ? Discusion around a worker who was employed at NCR with all the skills that go with that tried to apply to a similar manufacturing company was told in an interview that her skills are good but they required a grade 12 or GED.
Competieness with younger workers? Does ageism exist? Tendencies to hire younger. Human resources criteria equal opportunity ? Job Insecurity Job Security does not exist anymore. opportunity to reinvent self Retraining opportunities expanded. Not dependant on EI only a few people qualify for EI and EI training The alternative is Ontario Works (Rates in Waterloo Region are up 13% in past year) Lack of training opportunities and depletion of most of all assets while on OW. EI must be Restructured. GED is a must for these workers. Some workers have a difficult time getting their GED How to match or fit skilled people with educational barriers with the jobs that are in demand. Employers expectation may be to high.
