Summary

In order to compete globally Canadian manufacturers need to consider a number of key areas:

1)  Need to set clear objectives with targets and direction

2)  Unionized versus non-unionized environments.  Management and Union agendas often run contardictory and parallel to each other

3)  Structuring a two tier tax system for domestic companies and another for companies trying to compete globally.  This would involve reducing source deductions which are the primary tax burden for companies.

4)  Manufacturers moving away from "silo-ed" thinking and looking to collaborate more fully with other resources around them.
